Eleven Portal

Before the portal, Eleven's clients sent content requests by email and the team ran the work through internal processes with no dedicated system behind them.

It was hard to see where any piece of work had got to. Allocating work to writers was a manual job, and nobody could easily see how much each person had on. Invoicing and chasing payments took more manual effort again.

Eleven wanted one system that could take an order from the first request through to delivery.

We built a multi-tenant application in React, with Supabase running the database and user logins. Multi-tenant means each client organisation has its own users, and its orders, briefs and invoices stay separate from everyone else's.

Writers draft in a built-in editor, and senior reviewers can send work back as many times as needed. Those revision loops, and moving work between people mid-job, were the hardest parts to build.

Every stage triggers an email, and Stripe handles payments with automatic reminders.

We left out publishing to client websites, because clients used too many different systems and many preferred to publish themselves.
