Writing a genuinely personal fitness plan takes time, and a coach with a full roster has only so much of it. We built PFit an internal tool that takes the routine work out of that first draft.

The tool generates a fitness plan from a set of inputs about the member: their BMI, their nutritional information, their activity level and their age. It uses AI to turn those inputs into a plan suited to that specific person, rather than pulling a fixed template off a shelf. BMI, or body mass index, is a rough measure of weight relative to height, and combining it with activity level and age gives the tool enough to shape sensible starting recommendations.

This is a tool for the coaches, not the public. It gives them a considered first draft to work from, which they can then adjust using their own judgement and what they know about the member.

The public site had two jobs: help more people in the Darlington area find PFit, and show them what training there actually leads to. We built it on Gatsby, a framework based on React that prepares pages ahead of time so they load quickly. Fast pages help with the visitor's experience and give the site a better footing in search results, which matters for a local business competing to be found.

Much of the site is given over to success stories. Members like Tom, Katie, Tim and Heather share their own accounts of training with PFit, alongside before-and-after photos and video testimonials. For someone deciding whether to book a first call, hearing from people who started where they are now does more than any sales copy could.
